| Just thought I'd update! School's been overly crazy, and it's made me into an insomiac this semester. Just when I think that I can cram nothing more into my head, our teacher give me a list of stuff to know on top of all the other stuff. For instance, last week, it was about 150 drugs, their modes of action, when to use them, and on what animals, and thier adverse effects, and the different effects that they might have in different species of animals....ah! Just remembering their names (which I can't pronounce) is hard enough for me! But, that's over now, and it's on to memorizing about 150 pages of parasites, their lifecycles, the diseases they cause, clinical signs, how to treat it, and their diganostic/infective stages, oh, and how to identify the adults and the eggs. Then, after that, it's pathology, and then bacteriology....all with the same amount of info. Like I said, this semester is never ending, and I get about 5 hours of sleep a night, tops. Thank goodness I love my profession, because if I didn't, and if I wasn't committed, I would never make it though this! Sorry to all my family and friends that I've lost touch with these last few months, only 2 more years, then we can get back in touch for good. haha. Well, back to studying, these parasites aren't going to learn themselves! | | |
| I do still exist, I am still alive. Ha, just livin up the summer. I have learned a lot at my internship....both clinical skills, and what I do/don't want in a job in the future. I have spent lots of time by the pool/at the lake. I have read some good books. I have worked out lots and done tons of yoga...good times, I missed that! And, I've traveled quite a bit too. Oh, and not to mention the plaza and westport....always fun! There's the last 2 months in a nut shell...only one more month of this, and it's back to the books, hard core, for second year! | | |
| It's been a while! I had the most stressful week of tests I've had et a few weeeks ago for finals...one final a day for 5 days about killed me. But, I made it through, and now I'm a quarter of a vet! Pretty exciting! After that week of stress, I had a much needed week at Table Rock lake in Missouri. Our days consisted of some great conversation, getting up wheneer we woke up, reading lots, sleeping lots, floating on the lake, skiing/boarding/tubing, and lots of relaxation! It was the most relaxing vacation I've ever had! Thanks, Jen (and Jen's grandparents)! Now, I've got to get all moved this week, because I start my internship at Banfield in KC on Monday! Exciting! So, that's all that's going on in my life lately....pretty exciting, huh? | | |
| I seriously have the coolest, best dad ever! It's been a long day, week, year. I'm worn out and tired of studying and my tummy hurts. Where does my favorite dad come into all this? He randomly called tonight and just said: Ok, I'm in front of a wall of sandles. What do you want? Ha. So, I said what have they got? He said, just a sec...I hear some shuffling and a lady says "hey, your dad says you are a vet student and want some comfortable sandles? Here's what we've got.....(and she goes on to list all the sandles on the wall and what they look like)" I stopped her when she came across a cute sounding pair, and when we were both laughing at the situation too hard for her to continue. Then, she handed the phone back to dad, who asked me if we'd made a decision. I told him yes, and he said what size, and I told him my size. I was seriously cracking up the whole time...what a crazy man! Then he said, OK, that's all I needed. I said, wait, where are you? He said, oh in California! Ha. Good times. Can't wait to see what we picked out! | | |
| I had a fun Easter, first one without my family, but we made the best of it. I got up and went to Mass with my roommate, Darla, and my friend Ryan. Then, we went out to Coco Bolo's for brunch...first time ever having mexican food on Easter, but it was pretty good! Here's some fun pics from easter!
Me and Darla before church
Well, Dar and Ryan, not sure what happened to his head...
Me and Ry
After church, Darla had an assignment for her photog class, and needed an action shot, so we were the models! FUN!
This was the winning shot! haha. | | |
